Baby
Years Magazine - June/July 2003
"How To Teach Your Baby To Read 40th Anniversary by Glenn and Janet Doman clearly shows that tiny children are more capable of learning than we ever imagined. If parents give their babies the same opportunities to learn language through the eyes that is given to learn spoken language, their children will learn to read as they learn to speak! This parent friendly book is an easy read and lots of tim to do with your baby. Hlghiy recommended reading!"
San Diego Family
Magazine - July 2003
"How to Teach Your Baby to Read is for
a whole new generation of parents who are eager to teach their babies to read,
says Janet Doman, the book's co-author. Along with her father, Glenn Doman, Janet
Doman hopes the book will encourage 21st century parents in the same way it did
their parents some 40 years ago. This 40th anniversary edition of this classic
book is as inspiring, revolutionary and relevant as the original book introduced
in 1963. The book encourages parents to give their children the opportunity to
learn when it is easiest for them to absorb new information from birth
to six years. It makes it clear that the younger the child is, the easier it is
for him to learn to read. In addition to helping parents make reading fun, the
book offers tips to create a unique bond between you and your baby, while increasing
your baby's intelligence."
Richmond
Parents Monthly - March 2003
"Parents the world over have been
sharing the gift of reacting with their young children thanks, in part, to How
to Teach Your Baby to Read by Glenn and Janet Dorman. The 40th anniversary
edition is for a whole new generation of parents who are eager to teach their
babies to read, as did their parents nearly 40 years ago. The book encourages
parents to give their children the opportunity to learn when it is easiest for
them to absorb new infonnatioit from birth to 6 years old, and makes it clear
that the Address younger the child is, the easier it is for him to learn to read.
By using a flash card system created entirely by the parents, children learn in
five stages; following these steps will allow the learning child to discover words
have meaning, words can be used together and reading allows a story to speak to
them."

"This is an exciting book for parents with young children.
How to Teach Your Baby to Read does just that. With great tips on how to
start your baby on his or her way to reading, Glenn Doman and Janet Doman will
help you. Starting off with very simple words at first, make sure your baby is
in a good mood that
day, and yourself too! Any tension will surely make a bad session. Practicing
a little every day will help your child on their exciting journey of learning!
An expert in his field, Glenn Doman, working with brain-injured children, has
watched them grow and learn by teaching them to read and comprehend in simple
steps. Janet Doman grew up beside her father Glenn, helping out at The Institute
when she was only nine years old. Together they have valid testimonies that this
book is a helpful tool in the process of reading and learning for babies."
"Now
in a thoroughly revised and significantly updated 40th anniversary edition, How
To Teach Your Baby To Read: The Gentle Revolution by child brain development
experts Glenn Doman and Janet Doman is a simple, thoroughly 'parent friendly'
instructional guide to how fathers and mothers can help make reading fun for their
children and prepare them for school through offering enjoyable activities and
learning tasks which can begin in infancy. How To Teach Your Baby To Read
is especially recommended for its extensive, simple to use, easy-to-follow learning
plan combined with useful outlines and commentary to help structure quality bonding
and instructional time with very young children. If you are a parent seeking to
provide your son or daughter with the advantageous that an ability to read and
that a love of reading will provide them throughout their school years and beyond,
if you are looking to enhance your own parent/child bond, you wish to unlock your
child's imagination, enhance your child's academic success, if you want to 'school-proof'
your child in the event that their teachers or classrooms are inadequate to your
child's educational needs, then you need Glenn and Janet Doman's How To Teach
Your Baby To Read!" MBR
"Here's
a book that was first published 40 years ago. It's How to Teach Your Baby to
Read ($16.95, The Gentle Revolution Press, Towson, MD) and it still works
today. It's the work of Glenn and Janet Doman, his daughter, who demonstrate that
even very young children are far more capable of learning than we imagine. The
book has been published in 22 languages and its basic mission continues to be
teaching parents simple and effective methods to enable parents to teach, and
children to learn. When something has proven its worth for this length of time,
it is well worth learning and using." BV.com

"If
you want to have a viable future where you can reach your full potential one of
the single most valuable skills you can acquire is solid reading ability. 'How
to Teach Your Baby to Read' walks parents through a program for teaching the
very young (even less than a year) how to recognize words and read. Needless to
say, they use the method of learning to recognize whole words by sight and know
what they mean. You will find educators that decry this system as well as those
who embrace it. While there are strong opinions on both sides and I am no expert
on the pros and cons of word recognition vs. phonetic, the bottom line seems to
be that your child does learn to read. The techniques are clearly explained in
detail and easy for any parent to follow along and apply. With regular practice
in a fun environment children learn the words easily and are soon on their way.
This does require involvement by the parents and a time commitment. However, the
time commitment is minimal considering the results achieved. This is a highly
recommended book for anyone wanting to give their kids a big jump on schooling
or who are home schooling."
